As I drew the jetty, a Canada goose swam around the base of the structure many times. This led me to imagine the jetty’s structure from the goose’s vantage point, as well as from my own position on the bank of the river. I hoped to draw the looming presence of the structure’s massive framework, as it might be felt by the goose as it negotiated its many pillars.
