I love the way I see birds flying at close quarters from my studio window. In this case, the pigeon instinctively twisted its body in flight as it skimmed past my window. Later, a seed head floated through the same spot, its gentle drifting fall countering the determined directional flight of the bird. The tower in the background is a brick chimney, part of a complex of historic warehouses and factories. My eye is often drawn to it, even though it’s beginning to be overshadowed by tower blocks being built to its right.
