The broad scope of the aerial view from my studio window often heightens my awareness of the vast planetary scale, in which small everyday events take place. Whilst I was drawing the moon - visible that day during daylight - in the top right of the image, I noticed people gathering in the recycling area below. To my surprise they began gracefully throwing bin bags into the skips, using underarm throws with elegantly swinging arms and expertly bent legs. It felt as though the gull circling above, top right, were in a third realm, between the mundane activity at ground level and the celestial movements above.
