Graphite drawing by Alexandra Blum scaffold and plastic sheeting on terrace house Ashwin Street Dalston Hackney London

Alexandra Blum, ‘13.2.09 - From Ashwin Street’, graphite on paper, 21 x 30 cm, 2009

Thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team launching the Architecture Learning Resource for the Public Programme, Courtauld Institute of Art. Felt like a real privilege to have the opportunity to talk about my drawings in the context of learning to see spatial relationships and the thinking behind the drawing activities I’d devised for a couple of sections of the resource. Thank you to all who came along, especially for your thought provoking questions!

Work on the resource was a collaboration between a group of educators in the Courtauld’s Public Programme department and it’s been wonderful to see the diverse ways of analysing and responding to architecture which have emerged.

Aimed at secondary school teachers and students, it can be downloaded here. My contribution can be found on pages 8 -11.
